Our favorite time of the year has finally arrived, ice skating season. Taking the ice may seem intimidating, especially when you're watching that one guy speed skating around the rink as you're bracing for dear life against a railing - okay, maybe that's just us.Regardless of skating skill level, Pier 17 has found the formula to a perfect NYC Winter day – complete with a rink and hot chocolate (boozy optional).
Pier 17 has once again transformed their rooftop into a winter wonderland filled with a larger skating rink to enjoy the stunning views of the Lower Manhattan skyline - the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, and other landmarks. Enhancing the rink experience is a custom, large-scale mountaintop, giving the feeling of skating in the Alps in the heart of downtown New York.
For those who need a break from the cold - and your hamstrings are beginning to burn - take shelter in The Rooftop’s warming huts. Chow down on menu items like loaded potato tots, tomato soup + grilled cheese dippers & more. For those really looking to warm up, enjoy themed cocktails such as a Whisky Plum or spiked hot cider.
Daily skating tickets and season memberships are available for purchase today. For the youth that are inspired to learn skating, children five years old and younger skate free (skate rentals not included) when accompanied by a paying adult skater.
