A Peek Inside Yolk's Test Kitchen

By Chicago Bucket List

Making brunching a hobby since 2006. πŸ₯žπŸ³

Waking up on the weekends is always a thrilling moment. Opening your eyes and knowing that there's no office to attend, no work to tend to, and a full day waiting on your cue to begin. The only thing on your mind? Brunch.

Hit us with some fluffy pancakes amongst the good company of an egg benedict, and never skimp out on those potatoes. The art of brunching adds every bit of joy to your day, and Yolk has perfect every aspect over 15 years.

Yolk’s Test Kitchen was established as an innovative space for Yolk to create new brunch dishes and allow the community to leave constructive feedback. To translate, you are a brunch-setter.

A Pro-Tip to our caffeinated friends: Yolk Test Kitchen houses a variety of beans from Metropolis Coffee Roasters and a rotating local roaster like Anodyne Coffee Roasters from Milwaukee. The coffee program will feature classic espresso drinks as well as seasonal beverages, all brewed with methods that are both classic and cutting-edge.

Please also note the ratios of milk to espresso the specialty drinks. You may have thought you were drinking a cappuccino, but in fact it's been a latte the entire time.

Yolk’s Test Kitchen will also feature a new seasonally rotated dining menu centered around breakfast and lunch. The menu will have inventive dishes using only the highest quality ingredients, from comfort food to a healthy 2020 diet, there is something for all brunch lovers out there.

Patrons of the Test Kitchen can also find some of Yolk’s staple dishes on the menu such as the All Star Combo, Red Velvet French Toast, and Chicken 'n' Waffles.

Now that we've buttered you up a bit, we'd like to introduce Yolk's award-winning dish, Kentucky Fried Bacon (K.F.B.). A smoked pork belly in panko breadcrumb crust, served with a bourbon glaze and blueberry barbecue sauce.
