This Chicago Restaurant Group Is Donating Proceeds To An Employee Relief Fund

A small gesture can make a big difference ❤️

Across the globe, we're seeing communities and individuals band together. From applauding healthcare heroes to grocery shopping for elderly neighbors, we're all doing our part – however big or small – to spread the love (not the germs).

While ordering delivery to satisfy that cacio e pepe or chocolate chip cookie craving helps keep the lights on for some of our favorite local businesses, we need to also think about the people behind favorite meals – those who cooked, cleaned and welcomed us with smiles (and beer) on a night out. Some companies are going the extra mile to create employee relief funds. Three Chicago restaurants in particular are donating 50% of all gift card proceeds directly to a relief fund for laid-off employees.

You can sift through some available gift cards on our Bucket Listers shop and read about other ways you can help below.

Don’t worry, eat happy – whether that's at home now or at Happy Camper in the future. Located in Old Town and Wrigleyville, this pizza palace is a masterclass in quarantine survival, with everything from build-your-own pizza making kits to cocktail shaking kits. Purchase a gift card for a post-quarantine pizza party or struggle bus brunch with friends.

Our slice of paradise: Paradise Park. Pizza on an outdoor patio is the post-quarantine celebration we all deserve after this – with pizza (obviously), soups and salads, cookie dough tubs and $12 cocktails. Now excuse us while we dream about rolling up to brunch and ordering the Pulled Pork Hash and Breakfast 'Za – anything goes.

Dishing up 4 categories of pizzas – the meats, the chickens, the veggies and calzones – Homeslice is our sauce sanctuary, our mozzarella mecca if you will. Pair your pizza with some beer-basted bread sticks and bubbly goat cheese marinara sauce for dipping and *chef's kiss*

Other Ways To Help...

In addition to purchasing gift cards for your post-rona rager, these three restaurants have set up other ways to support their employees during these tough times – such as a Go Fund Me and merch page, where 100% of proceeds go straight to the employee relief fund.

Feeling cheeky? While ordering delivery, you can add in a roll of toilet paper.

Possibly the *coolest* (albiet savage) way to help contribute to the employee fund – send an Ice to a friend for $10. Nothing will make your friend happier to self-isolate from you than having to take a knee and take down a Smirnoff.

Pro Tip: If you're ordering delivery from any of the above restaurants, also consider adding a meal for a local healthcare worker or volunteer to your cart.
