A Hard Seltzer Fest Is Coming To Cog Hill Golf Course This Summer

By Chicago Bucket List

Endless seltzer samples – what more could we ask for?

Published July 16, 2020

In a quick turn of events, 2020 isn’t shaping up to be the absolute worst, all thanks to one event in particular: SELTZERLAND. What is Seltzerland, you may ask? Only all of our hopes and dreams wrapped up in tiny seltzer cans.

The summer fest is hitting fairways across America for a social distanced, nationally-touring hard seltzer celebration. Yes, you heard that correctly – an event surrounding seltzer.

For tickets, visit here.

Though Seltzerland will take place at picturesque golf courses across the nation, no actual golfing will be involved. *Deeeeeep sigh of relief* Instead, attendees will be able to leisurely walk (which we’ve gotten quite good at over the past four months) nine holes while safely sampling from over 50 flavors of hard seltzer.  Everything from check-in, sampling, voting and purchasing food will be contactless.

The safe Seltzerland tour will tee-off on Saturday, August 29th at Chicago’s famous Cog Hill Golf Course (yes, Tiger has won there 5 times), then continue to courses across the country. See below for additional dates:

  • Chicago: Cog Hill Golf Course on August 29th
  • Minneapolis: Phalen Park Golf Course on September 12th
  • Denver: Colorado National Golf Course on September 19th
  • Boston: Unicorn Golf Course on September 26th
  • NYC: To Be Announced
  • Washington D.C.: To Be Announced

Guests will be able to social distance in groups up to 10 and can spread out across each course’s fairways. Everything from iconic national brands to beloved local companies (#ShopLocal right?) will be on-site offering various beverage samplings. And because the event is derived straight from our dreams, mouthwatering brunch bites will be provided as well.

“These past few months have been incredibly trying, and one thing we know is that everyone needs something to look forward to, now more than ever before. As the weather became nicer, I, as a consumer, just wanted to get outside and have a drink with my friends while being safe. What better place to do that than on an open, outdoor, sprawling, and gorgeous golf course? With courses around the country open to the public and tee times available to manage check-in, it is the safest venue and structure for in-person events. We know this experience will provide a safe opportunity to have some much-needed fun and we’re so excited to bring Seltzerland to life,” said Cannonball Productions CEO & Founder Kate Levenstien.

Safety is a primary focus of Seltzerland. Here are some of the precautions attendees can expect:

  • Vendors and staff must wear protective gloves and do regular hand-washing. Attendees are also encouraged to wash hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, and wear a face mask while not sampling.
  • Attendees within different time slots must maintain at least six feet of space between each other, and vendors will also be spaced out accordingly to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
  • Restrooms will have a devoted porter to regularly clean in between uses.

When purchasing tickets online, attendees will sign up for a “tee-time,” which will be available every 10 minutes, for your group of 10 or less for this 2.5-hour experience. There will be two ways to experience Seltzerland with General Admission and VIP tickets offered. General Admission tickets begin at $49 and VIP tickets start at $89. VIP ticket holders will kick off the event with premier timeslots, a full-sized can of hard seltzer, a specialty cocktail, complimentary food, and free parking.
