With the nights longer and the air frostier, East Coasters are going to want to set sites on this ultimate winter destination to turn up the cheer.
Nemacolin is the luxurious, adventure-ready and super diverse “bespoke oasis” we’ve been dreaming of. The massive grounds are covered in accommodations and unique guest experiences to suit any tastes—think world class dining and paintball ranges—so we’ve broken down a round-up to consider all they have to offer below.
If the floor to ceiling balcony doors and chandelier don’t have you feeling like royalty on entry, we highly suspect the whirlpool bathtubs will do the trick. We argue the crown jewel here is their restaurant: Lautrec, a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond Restaurant (one of only 32 restaurants worldwide to have received both accolades). At this time, Barattolo is open to day guests and the general public seven days a week and APEX is open to day guests visiting Mystic Mountain for snowy, wintry fun.
The Woodlands Spa and Salon has all the elements you might expect: indoor pools, pedicures (some with unique twists, like the Jelly Pedicure), and then some. Choose from a soothing selection of Signature spa treatments.
Take to the trails with up to four passengers as an experienced instructor guides you through a course designed to familiarize you with the vehicle. Each passenger will have the chance to drive portions of the 20-mile trail of rugged terrain. Driving guests must present a valid driver’s license.
Sample colorful light bites paired perfectly with a wide selection of imported teas and coffees. Just what 2021 should be all about—soothing tea.
Now through February, guests can ski and snowboard across 25 acres and 6 different slopes of snow-covered Mystic Mountain. Winter fun here also includes night skiing on 100% illuminated trails, and a rentable revolutionary ski bike: the Sno-GO.
Remember that world-class, 1/32 most awarded restaurants in the world, we mentioned? Guests can select their “Leap of Faith” menu, which gives the highly acclaimed Lautrec culinary team full autonomy to create a unique dining experience customized for you and, believe us, you’re in good hands.
Both of Nemacolin’s elite golf courses were designed by the legendary “mad genius” of golf architecture: Pete Dye–and it shows. The PGA Tour Tested (and extra difficult, for thrill seekers) Mystic Rock course spans acres of the scenic Laurel Highlands, offering players championship-level golf with a spectacular view atop the Allegheny Mountains.
Shepherd’s Rock, Nemacolin’s second 7,151-yard course, continues across the mountains and is brilliantly designed to be both fun and challenging for players.
Name something more fun than slipping and sliding down 700 feet of snow with family and friends. You can’t. It’s too pure.
Straight out of the future—the magical innovative Holistic Healing center is here to solve the problems you didn’t know you had. The Center’s highly qualified therapists, educators, wellness advisors consult with each guest to provide a tailored healing treatment. And with the range of medical certification here, The Center is able to dive into injury and mobility focused massages, Kinesiology Taping and Modern Sport Cupping, acupuncture, reiki, cryotherapy, and much more.
And of course, winter is not complete without a session in the rink. Glide with friends and a family at their outdoor ice skating rink in Lafayette Square.
Be in on the secret by venturing into the Prohibition-inspired Cigar Bar, and taste historic luxury in an impressive selection of bourbons, scotches and cognacs. If it’s your thing, you’ll also choose from an array of world-class cigars. If whiskey and smoke isn’t for you—they maintain a wide menu of wine, beer and 20's-themed cocktails along with it.
