It's an espresso emporium – a 35,000-square-foot Starbucks Reserve Roastery where you can cheers espresso martinis, see Nitro Gelatos create clouds of ice, and so much more. Its city tributes include locally inspired craft cocktails and collaborations with local artists, as well as all coffee being roasted on site and transported through the five floors via custom coffee bean pipes.
This summer, The Roastery has rolled out a ton of playful new drink specials (we’re talking Pineapple Rum Floats) to celebrate the start of warmer weather. Whether you’re in need of a morning jolt or some afternoon R&R, this Starbucks is full of hidden gems you could spend your whole day discovering.
Coffee isn’t just for early birds. Starbucks has also rolled their lineup of Reserve Espresso Martinis—each with a delicious range of global liqueurs—into an addicting flight option! You and friends can now taste the rainbow of spiked offerings (cherry limone, orange cacao and molé spice) on their patio deck in chilled martini glasses.
We also highly suggest making a reservation on their Rooftop patio to complete the vibe.
Summer wouldn’t be complete without cold brew, and The Roastery has some you’ve never heard of! The best way to experience a variety of flavors is via the Cold Brew Trio Flight which includes a rotating Reserve Cold Brew, Nitro, and Whiskey-Barrel Aged Cold Brew all starring Whiskey Barrel-Aged Guatemala beans.
For something with more of a twist we’d recommend trying the Smoked Cold Fashioned, which is spirit free and includes cold brew, simple syrup and aromatic bitters, applewood smoked a la minute and garnished with orange peel and Luxardo cherry
BONUS: in the Chicago location only, you can enjoy the barrel-aged Guatemala tasting journey! Match your drinks with curated, flavor enhancing bites from Princi Bakery & Cafe, such as the Gorgonzola Dolce, nduja, apricot marmalade and a chocolate truffle.
If the summer heat has you dreaming of a snowy experience: Starbucks has the go-to on their 3rd floor. Try their Affogato Nitro Gelato, which includes two shots of espresso poured over a nitrogen-infused fior di latte (sweet cream) gelato. The process creates an aesthetic icy cloud—and an impossibly creamy and delicious affogato.
The Roastery is also flaunting a lineup of cocktail-inspired drinks, each able to transport you to a tropical vacation right from the heart of the city.
We recommend a steady diet of the Pineapple Rum Floats—filled with pineapple syrup, espresso and vanilla ice cream, and the Lake Shores—which tastes like a boozy mango popsicle—in between exotic vacations to keep up your beach state of mind.
Summer also means a menu refresh of new ice cream inspired drinks to try! Their ice cream-beverages may need little intro which include (from left to right) the Cold Brew float and Cold Brew Malt.
Coffee and chocolates – please name a more iconic duo. With 3 distinct 8 fluid ounce Starbucks Reserve coffees prepared on the Clover brewer, you’ll get the quintessential coffee experience with the Origin Flight. To sweeten the experience, add some Chocolat Uzma truffles to the mix – an eye-opening, palate-expanding experience will ensue for any aspiring aficionado.
For those who want a cocktail but are more of a tea person, the Blush Mint Julep is a must! Made from Teavana® Jade Citrus Mint® Tea, Gin,Aperol, Cocchi Americano Rosa, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup, Strawberry, and Mint Sprig. A to-go option is also available to enjoy at home.
Experience a variety of sparkling spritz at the Reserve Roastery! Each drink will be muddled with fresh fruit and topped with sparkling water over ice. Flavors include Cucumber Mint, Strawberry Balsamic, and Blood Orange Tea.
Frozen Black Tea with Limonata Foam—a flavor only available in Chicago–inspired by the popular flavor combination of tea and lemonade. This frosty treat layers a generous portion of limonata foam over blended Golden Monkey black tea.?
