Fall in New York means lots of things—Fashion Week, Comic Con, and the Feast of San Gennaro return to the city, along with changing leaves and pumpkin patches. But it’s also the time when chefs and restaurant owners across the city wait to debut their most highly-anticipated projects.

From a hidden sushi den to a London-style chophouse, an authentic Singapore street food center to a slew of new dining options at Rock Center, here are a few of the exciting new restaurants on the scene this fall.

Madame George

Madame George

This new Midtown cocktail lounge is a whimsical, yet refined escape from the busy streets of Manhattan. Rich textures and eye-catching details set the backdrop for a menu inspired by New York City through the ages. Sip cocktails at the opulent bar, or enjoy an intimate table with plush seating and shared bites.

Kingfisher

From chef Andre Mack of French Laundry, comes Kingfisher, a neighborhood restaurant open now in Prospect Lefferts Gardens in Brooklyn. The menu features locally caught seafood from the Tri-State area and an expansive wine list, curated by Mack himself. Every dish has been carefully thought out, from smaller offerings like oysters with mignonette and razor clams with fennel and green apple to larger plates like monkfish with potato.

While the new location has been open for a few months now, this fall, the penthouse lounge will be open for guests as well. Accessible only by a private elevator, the lounge is lined with stunning stained glass windows, and offers access to the rooftop patio.

Husband and wife team, Junghyun and Ellia Park (the duo behind acclaimed Atomix) are opening Naro, a fine dining Korean restaurant focusing on the authentic flavors of classic Korean dishes that are underrepresented in most western countries.

Jupiter, a regional Italian restaurant from the people behind King in Soho, will be opening alongside the ice rink, along with Five Acres, a vegetable-forward spot named for Chef Greg Baxtrom’s family farm.

Guests can expect a 40-ft counter, along with vinyl bar stools, retro tables, and classic sandwiches with quirky nicknames. Among said sandwiches is the Tuna Melt on Rye, a call-back to a favorite from the original Eisenberg’s.
