No one does shopping like New York, and that includes its seasonal holiday markets. As temperatures start to drop, and the holidays approach, the city comes alive with holiday lights, seasonal pop-up bars, and festive kiosks everywhere you look.

Whether you want a full day of activities and window shopping, need to find the perfect holiday gift for the in-laws, or want to find one-of-a-kind stocking stuffers for your best friends, you can find it all at a holiday market in NYC.

Bryant Park Winter Village

Bryant Park Winter Village

On October 28, the Bank of America Winter Village will be back with its seasonal staples: the rinkside Lodge, complete with festively themed cocktails and bites, cozy glowing igloos to sit and eat in, and of course, the open-air, euro-inspired holiday market! 

You’ll find shops selling a variety of giftable items like ornaments, jewelry, candles, and all kinds of unique art—from chopstick structures to handcrafted figurines. Located along Bryant Park’s plazas and terraces, the shops are housed in custom-designed “jewel box” kiosks and are open daily until 10 PM.

Union Square Holiday Market

Union Square Holiday Market

Named one of the best holiday markets in the nation, the Union Square Holiday Market welcomes nearly 200 craftsman vendors to the iconic Union Square area each year. The market returns this year on Thursday, November 17th, and will showcase a dynamic mix of global cuisines, art, and much more. You can shop till you drop at the thousands of red and white vendor booths all while munching on creative food dishes like spaghetti donuts from Pop Pasta.

Next stop: Central Park. The one-week holiday pop-up market at Columbus Circle is one of the most glittering, elegant holiday markets in the city. Steps away from the Museum of Arts and Design, and conveniently located at the southernmost entrance to the park at 59th Street and Central Park West, patrons can wander through kiosks of unique art, jewelry, and home decor with Billionaire’s Row and Central Park as the backdrop.

Urbanspace, the creators behind the Union Square and Columbus Circle markets, have a new venture coming this November to Brooklyn Borough Hall. The market will be filled with Brooklyn-based artists, food and drink vendors, vintage goodies, and one-of-a-kind pieces. Open daily, starting November 28.

Brooklyn Flea in DUMBO operates a flea market every weekend of the year from April through December, but from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, you can stop by for the holiday market. Featuring 50 vintage and handmade vendors, you can find everything from furniture, vintage clothing, and collectibles to jewelry, art, and whiskey. There are also delicious food options where you can fuel up and keep your holiday shopping spree going.

Is it just us, or do train stations feel extra Christmas-y? NYC’s longest-running indoor holiday fair is located within Grand Central Terminal. Starting November 14, there will be 36 local artisan vendors setting up shop in the gorgeous beaux-arts Vanderbilt hall. This fair is known for its curation and high-quality small business products that make stunning holiday keepsakes. This can range from men's and women's cothing to self-care products to original artwork. 

When: November 14—December 24, 2022

The Makers Show (a social justice market platform for small businesses), and City Point (Brooklyn’s largest shopping and dining complex), teamed up to host an inaugural holiday market in downtown Brooklyn! The vendors consist of BIPOC and LGBTQIA creatives, and you can find a myriad of colorful apparel, organic skin and body care, plant buddies, and seasonal favorites.

When: November 25—December 22
Where: 445 Albee Square W, Brooklyn, NY 11201
