The Best Things to Do This Summer at the New York Starbucks Reserve® Roastery

The luxe space features nitro on tap, a siphon coffee experience, and three unique bars. 🧊☕🍨

by New York Bucket List

If there’s one thing New Yorkers love, it’s a great cup of coffee. The one-of-a-kind Starbucks Reserve® Roastery in the city’s Meatpacking District sports three floors of rare coffees and innovative cocktails sure to please even the most discerning of coffee connoisseurs.

This sleek yet cozy space is decked out with sumptuous wood finishings and futuristic pneumatic tubes that whisk freshly roasted beans throughout the space. Around every corner, there’s something new and exciting for coffee lovers to discover.

Whether your coffee style is more “iced coffee all year” or “the more espresso, the better,” here’s our guide to drinking in all the best this coffee mecca has to offer:

Snap a photo with the Siren Sculpture

Before you leave, be sure to snap a photo with the 10-foot, 2,500-pound gleaming copper Siren statue installation, made especially for this Starbucks Reserve location by New York artist Max Steiner.

Where: 61 9th Ave., New York, NY 10011

Order Drinks to Go

End your experience at the Roastery by ordering a refreshing to-go cocktail.

On your way out, order up a Final Say cocktail crafted with matcha, blanco tequila, a blend of herbaceous liqueurs, and lime, and topped with a coffee-infused Amarena cherry.

Or make an evening out of it with the to-go Espresso Martini flight featuring three delicious flavors: the Classic, made with espresso, single malt vodka, and vanilla bean syrup, the Orange Cacao with creme de cacao, seco sherry, and orange bitters, and the Cherry Limone made with cherry liqueur, limoncino dell’Isola, and lemon peel.

Taste the Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew

Is your style “coffee in the morning, whiskey in the evening”? If so, you won’t want to miss the Starbucks Reserve Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew Trio experience, where you’ll taste a selection of spirit-free beverages crafted featuring the Roastery’s signature Whiskey Barrel-Aged Cold Brew.

The cold brew is made with Guatemalan beans aged in Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey barrels for a unique, refreshing flavor featuring notes of chocolate, oak, and stone fruit. Stop by the sample station to give it a try!

Visit the Costa Rica-Inspired Mini Greenhouse

No need to hop on a plane to visit the lush jungles of Costa Rica. Instead, simply head down two flights to the cellar to find the terrarium installation, inspired by Starbucks’ Costa Rica farm, Hacienda Alsacia.

Get the Scoop at the Scooping Bar

Swing by the Scooping Bar to chat with a Starbucks Coffee Master. Here, they’ll share their love and knowledge of coffee with you while helping you pick out the perfect specially-roasted coffee to take home.

Grab a Bite to Eat at Princi

Once you’ve worked up an appetite tasting your way through the fantastic selection of coffees, stop by Princi, a boutique bakery concept, to enjoy a delicious selection of fresh pastries, sandwiches, pizzas, and more. Our top choice is the Salame Milano sandwich, featuring Milano-style salami and creamy Bufala mozzarella on fresh focaccia bread.

For a sweet treat, finish your meal with the Raspberry Cornetto, a flaky, buttery pastry with raspberry jam.

Watch Masters at Work in the Roasting Area

Watch the Master Roasters at their craft in the Roasting Area. The centerpiece of this vital area is the Copper Cask, an enormous vessel used to process and rest all of the beans after they are roasted to create the best flavor.

You can also watch the roasters swirl coffee beans from all over the world in the custom Probat® Roaster tanks and, of course, ask questions!

Grab Drinks at Arriviamo® Bar

In the mood for something a little stronger than a cup of coffee? Sidle up to the Arriviamo Bar to indulge in a variety of coffee & tea-forward cocktails.

To get things started, try the refreshing Orange Coffee Tonic, a non-alcoholic beverage featuring Starbucks Reserve® Cold Brew, Teavana® Ayurvedic Chai, Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, and lemon-orange cordial.

Kick things up a notch with the Espresso Martini, made with Starbucks Reserve® Espresso, Kalak Single Malt Vodka, vanilla bean syrup, and dark chocolate, or the Boulevardier, featuring Starbucks Reserve Coffee, Knob Creek® Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Campari, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, vanilla bean syrup, and Scrappy’s Lavender Bitters.

For an indulgent experience, choose the Arriviamo™ Cocktail Bar Trio, where you’ll enjoy a one-on-one cocktail tasting with three signature Roastery cocktails, led by a master mixologist. If you prefer, you can opt for a classic aperitivo or a glass of wine or beer instead, with selections from several New York state wineries and breweries available.

This experience is for guests aged 21 and over, please drink responsibly.

Roastery Revealed Private Tours

Want to learn more about what goes into creating the perfect cup of coffee? Add on a private Roastery Revealed tour, where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the roasting process from farm to cup, plus receive an exclusive bag of Starbucks Reserve coffee to take home and enjoy.

You can customize your tour even further by adding an espresso tasting, cold brew tasting flight, origin flight, or brew method comparison flight.

Embark on an immersive coffee journey at the Experience Bar

At the Experience Bar, visitors can enjoy a variety of immersive experiences designed to take them deeper into the world of coffee.

Here you can choose from seven brew methods designed to explore the dynamic sensory possibilities of coffee. Our favorites are the Siphon experience, where you’ll taste a unique Starbucks Reserve® coffee brewed using the siphon brewer (part science, part theater, all flavor!). The Origin Flight, pictured above, helps you taste three different coffees.

You can also try the Art of Chemex experience, as you enjoy coffee brewed using the unique Chemex hourglass brewing device for a truly unparalleled drinking experience. The Origin Flight, pictured above, helps you taste three different coffees.

Soak up the sun on the outdoor patio

With plenty of umbrellas to keep you cool and a full menu of snacks and beverages available, the chic outdoor patio at the Roastery is a great place to post up with friends and watch the world go by on a summer afternoon.

Our top picks? If you’re in need of an energy boost, opt for a classic Espresso made with Starbucks single-origin Paradeisi Blend, featuring an energetic flavor profile with notes of caramel and citrus.

Need something refreshing to cool off on a hot day? Try a fizzy and fun Blood Orange Spritz with fresh orange slices or a creamy blended Frozen Black Tea with Limonata Foam. If you’re feeling extra indulgent, treat yourself with a creamy Cold Brew Malt milkshake!

The patio is open seasonally as weather permits.
