New York City has been so kind as to return rooftop cocktails, outdoor and indoor tapas and long overdue haircuts to us over the past few months. While some experiences around the city remain closed, a very elevated experience exists right in most of our backyards – The High Line.

The park is currently open for visitors every day from from 7am to 7pm on weekdays and from 10am to 6pm on weekends, with social distancing measures in place. In order for individuals to safely social distance, the number of visitors will be limited on weekends. To achieve this, one must reserve a free timed-entry pass for either Saturday or Sunday. Passes are free and can be reserved here. If you forget to make an online reservation, a limited number of walk-up passes will be available as well.

Weekday access to the High Line is completely open, however the only entrances are at Gansevoort Street, 23rd Street, or 30th street. 

Though the High Line has several entrances and exits throughout Meatpacking and Chelsea, for the time being, visitors must only enter at the above three entrances. While there are only three entrances, all other stairs are reserved for exits-only (elevators will be available for exiting at 14th and 23rd Streets). 

While this should go without saying, it is required for visitors to wear a mask or face covering, and maintain a six-foot distance from people not in their household.

Food vendors and the High Line Shop will remain closed but you can try one of these 21 NYC restaurants open for outdoor dining after your leisurely walk!
