Amtrak is Running Harry Potter-themed Trains This Summer
Who wants to ride the Hogwarts Express? 🚂✨

by Boston Bucket List
If you’ve ever dreamed of boarding the Hogwarts Express and getting whisked through the countryside to learn magic at a castle, now's your chance—or, at least, it’s probably the closest chance you’ll get as a muggle.
Amtrak has recently partnered with Broadway’s “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” and the partnership presents a unique experience for Amtrak Guest Rewards members. Not only does it allow for discounted train fares, it also provides guests the opportunity to climb aboard a Harry Potter-themed train and take in the scenery along the Northeast Corridor. Rather than arriving at a hidden castle, guests will arrive in NYC (just as magical), and be immersed in the wizarding world through the famed show at the Lyric Theatre.
The trains will run between Boston and DC from April 28 to June 25. To cash in on the experience, Amtrak Guest Rewards members can use their points in conjunction with the Audience Rewards program to purchase tickets for a show. Signing up for the rewards program is free and quick, and you can book tickets on the Amtrak website.
The four trains dedicated to “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” are specially wrapped, featuring the show’s iconic logo along with its most beloved trio: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. You’ll also see Draco Malfoy, and the next generation of wizards—Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, and Rose Granger-Weasley—all of whom play important roles in the Broadway play, which takes place 19 years after the events of the final book.
While there won’t be any stops at platform 9 ¾, passengers will still get to experience the magic of Harry Potter and take in the scenery along the way. And unless you know how to fly a broomstick, it’s probably the best way to get to NYC.
