Escape the city and stretch your legs in Mt. Rainier National Park’s stunning wilderness.

Mt. Rainier is encased in more than 35 square miles of snow and ice! This National Park is also blanketed by old-growth forests, alpine meadows, shimmering lakes, and rushing waterfalls. Your guide will share the natural and cultural history of Mt. Rainier, from the medicinal properties of native plants to the geological forces that produced this imposing monolith. This isn’t just another driving tour of a National Park—we prefer to keep travelers outside the vehicle for walks and exploration.

Stroll through the old-growth forests near Longmire, where Douglas fir, hemlock, and cedar trees dwarf visitors, and the bubbling of natural springs fills the crisp air. Experience waterfalls and big mountain views as you wind to higher elevations. In the summer, pick wild berries on a sub-alpine hiking trail. In the winter, take advantage of Paradise’s legendary snowfall (and the winter solitude) on an introductory snowshoe trail.

Throughout the tour your guide will mix fascinating insights with opportunities for solitude as you come to appreciate Mt. Rainier’s pristine wild side. We bring lots of food, coffee, tea and snacks!
