There’s no better time to shop small than around the holidays, and Chicago has no shortage of artisan markets this winter! Whether you’re looking for a cozy knitted sweater, artisanal spice blends, or a hand-poured candle for the people you love most, you can find all of the Windy City’s best crafters, bakers, and builders at the many markets around the city. See our favorites below!

Millennium Park Art Market

You can spend hours wandering around this massive tent at Millennium Park. Not only do they have plenty of vendors selling unique wares, but they also have food, drinks, and live music at the Art Market Lounge. You can even take a break from shopping to see the giant Christmas tree or do some ice skating.

Washington Street Holiday Market

Head over to the DuPage County Fairgrounds to shop at one of the cutest markets in Chicago this year. This event works hard to curate unique crafts, vintage finds, and home-baked treats so you can find amazing one-of-a-kind gifts. Entry is just $5!

Randolph Street Holiday Market

The Randolph Street Market is an essential stop for any avid thrifter. With more than 125 different vendors, you're sure to find some of the coolest antique pieces, from furniture to tchotchkes. Stop by the bloody mary station for some necessary fuel as you spend all day treasure hunting at this indoor market. Tickets are $10 but it’ll be well worth it for the deals!

Soul & Smoke Holiday Market

On Sunday, December 11, beloved BBQ joint Soul & Smoke will host a Holiday Market at their Avondale location from 12-7 PM. Peruse gifts and goods from some of Chicago's favorite local artists and makers, and replenish with a hearty meal of comfort food at Soul & Smoke when you're done.

Andersonville Winter Market

State Street Holiday Market

The small businesses from the acclaimed Sundays on State series will head indoors for a free holiday market in The Loop. The event will also have family activities and holiday programming that changes daily, so it may be worth more than one trip!

Take a trip to Germany by traveling to the heart of Chicago. Shop for knick-knacks like nutcrackers, cuckoo clocks, beer steins, and glass ornaments. If you get hungry, take your pick from some German favorites like hot potato pancakes and delicious doughy pretzels! This is an outdoor event, but the Daley Plaza and Aurora locations offer warming tents while the Wrigleyville one has a skating rink!
