This massive museum is a world of its own, with everything from fossils to moon landing missions. HMNS at Hermann Park has five floors of permanent exhibits spanning astronomy, space science, Native American culture, paleontology, energy, chemistry, geology, seashells, and Texas wildlife, plus a slew of rotating special exhibitions. It's also home to the Burke Baker PlanetariumWortham Giant Screen Theatre, and Cockrell Butterfly Center.

The Burke Baker Planetarium is your ticket to the galaxy. Located at the Houston Museum of Science. the planetarium has a catalog of five films to choose from, which will help you navigate the wonders of space. Museum of Fine Arts

If you're in the mood to explore a collection of over 64,000 pieces of stunning art, Houston's Museum of Fine Arts has you covered. The Museum is the largest cultural institution in the southwest region of the United States and has everything from beautiful gardens to a neon-lit tunnel installation by James Turrell. A few not-to-miss pieces include Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, Gustave Caillebotte’s The Orange Trees, and Girl Reading by Auguste Renoir.

Holocaust Museum of Houston

Originally opened in 1996, The Holocaust Museum of Houston underwent a massive renovation in 2019 and has become the fourth-largest holocaust museum in the country. Giving its visitors an educational, interactive, and impactful experience through four permanent galleries and two changing exhibition galleries, classrooms, a research library, theaters, and more, the museum aims to inform students and the public about the dangers of prejudice and hatred in society.
