San Diego's Ultimate 2020 Winter Bucket List

by San Diego Bucket List
It’s that time of year again, where palm trees are wrapped in string lights, tourist crowds die down and favorite festive activities abound. This year of course, things will have some socially distant extra steps—so we’ve put together a list of the modified must-do’s for a San Diegan beautiful winter season.
Enjoy Holidays at The Del
Experience the magic of The Del as America’s beachfront legend transforms into a winter wonderland. While unfortunately there will not be any ice skating by the sea to comply with county health regulations, the hotel will still shimmer and shine as its signature red turrets are draped in thousands of sparkling lights and guests marvel at the towering beachfront Christmas tree, snowy surprises and garlands galore.
When: November 26, 2020 at 5:00 pm - December 31, 2020 at 9:00 pm
Where: 1500 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118
Go Whale Watching
Winter is the perfect time for whale watching in San Diego. From December to April, over 20,000 Pacific Gray whales travel 10,000 miles from Alaska to the lagoons of Baja California. Get a closer look at these beautiful creatures with a whale watching boat tour in and around La Jolla.
When: December - Mid-to-late April
Donate To A Worthy Cause Such As The San Diego Food Bank
One of the most meaningful ways to spend your holidays is by donating food, time or money to your local food bank, especially now as they work to ensure the nutritional needs of individuals and families are met who've been impacted by the pandemic.
Where: 9850 Distribution Avenue San Diego, CA 92121-2320
Order Seasonal Dumplings from Harumama Noodles & Buns
Their savory noodle dishes and handcrafted character buns are all that's on our wish list this year. Especially hoping for a resurgence of these penguin cuties that are filled to the brim with peppermint nutella. *heavy breathing*
Check website for varying hours and locations.
Drive-Thru the Enchanted Village
This magical experience will welcome San Diegans to view stunning holiday lights, hundreds of candy canes, a forest of Christmas Trees, and more—all from the safety of their vehicles. Additionally, proceeds of this will be supporting people with developmental disabilities.
When: Dec 18 - Dec 23, 2020, every Sunday, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
