Need a new pick-me-up spot for when the afternoon slump sets in? McDonald's is shaking up the beverage scene with the launch of CosMc's, a chain dedicated primarily to drinks. The first CosMc's spot just opened in the Chicago suburbs in Bolingbrook, with plans for more Windy City locations in 2024.
CosMc's is geared toward crafting personalized drinks with a vibe described by CEO Chris Kempczinski as a fusion of a 1980s McDonald's character with alien, surfer, and robot vibes. The menu features innovative coffee blends like churro frappes, s'mores cold brews, and turmeric-spiced lattes. Non-coffee options, including sour cherry energy bursts, blackberry mint green tea, and popping pear slushes, will also be on offer, and you'll also be able to customize your drinks with popping boba, flavor syrups, and energy or Vitamin C shots.
Alongside drinks, the menu boasts sweet and savory treats like spicy queso sandwiches, creamy avocado tomatillo sandwiches, pretzel bites, caramel fudge brownies, and the fan-favorite McDonald's soft-serve.
The debut in Bolingbrook caused quite a stir, drawing long lines at the drive-through with customers waiting up to three hours for their orders. About 10 additional locations are expected to open in Texas in 2024, and the company plans to gauge the success of the midwestern locations before they look at expanding the chain further.
If you're ready to try an Island Pick-Me-Up Punch for yourself, you can find the new CosMc's at 285 N Weber Road in Bolingbrook, open daily from 6 AM until 8 PM. Check out the full menu, below, and find more info at the CosMc's website.
